We wanted to do something for all the Jefferson County Fire Departments to show what they are doing for fire prevention month and week, this is what they have planned.

This is what Adams Center Fire Department is doing for fire prevention month and week.
Anyone in the Adams Center Fire Department District that needs a smoke detector, go to the Adams Center Fire Department station to get one, and if you’re immobile, I would imagine they can get them out to you.

Adams Center Fire Department 13401 No. Main St, Adams Center, NY 13606 Fire Station: 315-583-5533 Adams Center Fire Department Chief Mark Thomas Anna, As of right now we will be hosting students from the South Jefferson Central Wilson Bldg in grades Pre K, K and First on the 18th.
We are trying to schedule something at the school for the other grades. We have also been trying to get the word out to residents in our district that we have smoke detectors for anyone in need. Thank you, Mark

This is what Watertown City Fire has planned for fire prevention month.

Thank you for your inquiry. The department has a number of engine house tours scheduled throughout the month of October, however these tours are class specific only and not open to the public. We will have a display at Home Depot on Oct. 6 and at the zoo on Oct. 13. Those events are open to the public. The department will be dedicating its new memorial and acknowledging our members who have performed in the best tradition of the fire service on Thursday, October 25 at 7 pm.

That is all that I have to report at this time.

This is what Black River Fire Department is doing.

Good morning,

Currently we have no open house scheduled for this month, normally our open house occurs during the RecruitNY weekend. Every year we work closely with the black river elementary school and schedule events for their students to attend. This year the students will be coming to the fire station. What we do is setup different "stations" and rotate the students through them. It involves the fire department, black river ambulance and the black river police department. Each station discusses the important functions we perform and hopefully instills the safety aspect that they the student can teach their families. Also we schedule a night for the boy scout troop to visit us as well as the black river cooperative preschool.
